Chhayanaut’s two-day Nazrul celebration programme began on Friday at it auditorium through presentation of Nazrul songs and discussion.
The inauguration programme began with welcome speech delivered by Chayanaut secretary general Khairul Anam Shakil marking the National Poet’s 113th birth anniversary.
Subsequently Chhayanut students presented a chorus of Nazrul song Rum jhum jhum. The chorus also presented Dao shoirjo, dao dharjo.
Other cultural troupes such as Hindol Academy and Surshaptak also participated at the programme. Hindol Academy presented a synchronised performance with the songs
Jhum jhum jhumra naach nechey and Ke dilo khopatey dhotora phul.
Artistes of Surshaptak sang a couple of songs in chorus including Joy hok, joy hok and Tumi ki dokhina pabon.
Tanvir Ahmed gave soulful presentation of Nazrul song Pashaner ghum. Mahbub Ara Bipasha, Shamima Parvin Shimi, Anindita Chowdhury, Salina Hossain, Leena Taposhi Khan
also gave spontaneous performance onNiaba pelam, Oi ghor bhulao sur, Kemoney rakhi ankhibari chhapiya, Mukhey keno nahi bolo and Noyoney nid nahi ashey, respectively
at the programme.
Jayonto Ray and Krishti Hefaz recited Nazrul’s poems.
