Chhayanaut launched a collection of essays on the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam titled Bisway Ami Biswha Bidhatrrir on Friday at its
Ramesh Chandra Dutt Auditorium.
Edited by Chhayanaut chairperson Dr Sanjida Khatun, the book contains different types of essays by young and
renowned scholars of the country.Chhayanaut singers also presented Nazrul songs at the programme.
Historian professor Salauddin Ahmed unveiled the book at the launching ceremony presided over by Sanjida Khatun. Professor emeritus Anisuzzaman also talked on the book.
Stating Nazrul’s life can be an example for young generations, Dr Sanjida Khatun said, ‘Our published book Bisway Ami Biswha Bidhatrrir will help them to know more about the life and work of the national poet.’
In his speech professor Anisuzzaman termed the Chhayanaut’s initiative a ‘noble endeavor’. ‘It contains some insightful essays,’ he said.
Discussion session was followed by music rendition. The show began with a chorus presentation of the inspirational Nazrul song Chal rey chapel tarun dal by the Chhayanaut artistes.
The chorus also performed a few other inspirational Nazrul songs such as Aji rakto nishi bhorey and Mora jhonjher mato uddam.
Next was solo performance by the senior singers. Noted singer Khairul Anam shakil, who is also the general secretary of Chhayanaut, entertained the houseful audience giving a soulful presentation of the sentimental number Pashane bhangale ghum.
Audience also enjoyed Sharmin Sathi’s presentation of Nazrul composed shyama sangeet titled Elo krishna kanaya.
