Cricket players of the 32-member squad for the pre-season conditioning camp will begin their second phase of the camp at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratishthan today.
The six-week camp divided into three phases is run by strength and conditioning trainer of Bangladesh cricket team Grant Luden, the only foreign coach to survive from the post World Cup era.
The second phase will end in the BKSP on June 15 while a shortened camp will be headed for Cox’s Bazar on June26.
‘The boys are doing fine and are eager to start their second phase,’ Luden told New Age.
‘Training in the BKSP will be even harder than what we have done till date,’ said Luden. Skipper of Bangladesh team Sakib al Hasan and pace bowler Shafiul Islam are the two absentees of the camp.
Sakib is playing county cricket for Worcestershire and is due to miss the camp totally while Shafiul is nursing an ankle injury and is due to join after meeting physicians on June 20.
