The AFC Women’s Asia Cup Group-B qualifiers will start at the Bangabandhu National Stadium from May 21 and the Bangladesh Football Federation is preparing to advertise the upcoming competition to bring back the crowds of the yesteryears.
In order to attract fans to the stadium, the BFF is planning to start their campaigning at six government universities, 36 private universities and 42 colleges in Dhaka with billboards and they have already set up some advertising boards on Wednesday night.
The tickets will be on sale from today in 53 different outlets of Continental Courier Service Limited, informed Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, deputy chairman of the women’s wing of the BFF.
Event management company Modulus will carry out the branding activities while Pizza Hut will be the main sponsors of the meet.
‘There have been a lot of complaints before about the lack of spectators in the stadium. We want to change the record this time. We are planning to bring the crowds back to the gallery,’ said Kiron to reporters on Wednesday.
The price of a ticket has been fixed at Tk 50 for two matches to be held every day.
Meanwhile, the national women’s team of Iran will be the first team to arrive in Dhaka as they are scheduled to land in the city today. The other two sides of the competition, Thailand and Philippines will arrive three days later.
