Independence Cup champions Chittagong Abahani were drawn against Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra in Group B of the Federation Cup, scheduled to begin from June 10.
Muktijoddha Sangshad Krira Chakra is the other team in the Group B as 12 top-tier teams were split into four groups in the tournament. Reigning champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club were drawn with Brothers Union and Uttar Baridhara in Group C while the Group A comprised of Abahani Limited, Feni Soccer Club and Arambagh Krira Sangha.
Mohammedan Sporting Club, Team BJMC and Rahamatganj Muslim Friends Society will vie in the Group D.
The draw ceremony of the season’s second tournament was held at the Bangladesh Football Federation House where they also announced Walton as the title sponsor of the competition.
Earlier, the season began with the Independence Cup and BFF decided to hold Federation Cup before the Bangladesh Premier League that will begin from July 10.
Sponsor Walton announced lucrative prizes to attract football fans to the field.
