Feni Soccer Club became the second top-flight club after Team BJMC to complete their player registration formalities at the Bangladesh Football Federation on Thursday.
BJMC finalised their squad and coaching staff for the upcoming season on October 31.
Gambian coach Omar K Sise, who was at the helm of the Sheikh Jamal youth academy last season, will be appointed Feni head coach for the forthcoming season provided he fares well in the season-opening Federation Cup.
Feni registered 24 footballers, including latest recruit Wassou Okalawon
from Benin, and picked six players from the Under-19 national team for their squad.
This will be the fourth time that Feni Soccer Club will participate in the top flight. They were seventh in the domestic football league last season.
They retained the services of 10 footballers who played for the club last season and brought in six footballers from other clubs.
Former national midfielder Azmal Hossain Biddyut signed for Feni after being ignored by his former employers Muktijoddha Sangsad KC, while Akramuzzaman Liton also joined the Feni-based club.
‘We picked some youth players from the U-19 team in order to produce some talented footballers for the future,’ said Feni Soccer Club joint secretary Shakhawat Hossain Bhuiyan.
‘We faced some difficulties to form the team due to the prevailing political situation of the country and most of the players were not interested to play for us as we have set up our camp in Feni,’ he added.
