A friendly football match between the Bangladesh Army and the Australian Defence Force was held at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in the capital’s Banani area on Tuesday.
Chief of General Staff of Bangladesh Army Lt Gen Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan attended the ceremony as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners, says a press release issued on Tuesday.
Besides Jeremy Bruer, Australian high commissioner assigned to Bangladesh, and Air Commodore McCormack of Australian Defence Force, were present as a special guest.
In the game, Bangladesh Army football team defeated Australian Defence Force by 5-0.
Among others, senior officers of Bangladesh Army, delegation of Australian Defence Force and officers, junior commissioned officers and other rank officials of Dhaka Cantonment were present.
As part of Indo-Pacific Endeavor-2023, Bangladesh Army and Australian Defence Force participated in the friendly football match. This game is expected to play an important role in the development of mutual relations between the two countries. – Press release
