BRAC University on Tuesday organised a daylong Frosh Fest at the indoor game zone of its campus in the capital to welcome the newly enrolled students.
This year, BRAC University chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators arranged and coordinated the festival, in which forty clubs participated.
They set up colourful stalls, club exhibits and registration booths for membership.
Professor Fuad Hassan Mallick, pro-vice-chancellor of the university, inaugurated the ceremony at 10:00am.
‘I’m very pleased to see the variety of student clubs at the university. I hope this festival will gain more popularity and encourage everyone to participate in extra-curricular activities,’ Professor Mallick stated.
Riaz P Khan, dean of student affairs, and faculties from different departments of the university also attended the club fair inauguration.
‘It is very important to build leadership among students by making them a part of such clubs and events,’ said Air Cadre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, the university registrar.
IABC, BRAC University, a part of the globally renowned IABC community, is the only chapter in Bangladesh and this was the first time a Frosh Fest was organised by this association.
