Soundtrack of the film launched
“Guerrilla”, a film on the Liberation War, will be released on Pahela Baishakh (April 14, 2011). As part of the first phase of the film’s campaign, director of the film and freedom fighter Nasiruddin Yusuf, along with the cast and crew of the film and a number of noted cultural personalities, launched the soundtrack of the film at Channel i’s Tejgaon Office yesterday.
Widows of martyrs — Altaf Mahmud and Shahidullah Kaisar — and theatre icon Selim Al Deen, Sara Ara Mahmud, Panna Kaisar and Begumzadi Meherunnesa, respectively, unveiled the audio album. Laser Vision has produced the album.
Nasiruddin Yusuf, Shimul Yousuff, former DG of BTV Syed Salahuddin Zaki and executive producer of the film Esha Yusuf spoke on the occasion.
Actor and musician Shimul Yousuff directed music for the film. Originally composed by Shaheed Altaf Mahmud, three songs — “Bolo Bir Bolo Unnoto Momo Shir”, “Jai Shatyer Jai” and “Ami Manusher Bhai Spartacus” written by National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, Dr. Enamul Haque and Shaheed Shahidullah Kaisar — have been used in the film. Chandan Chowdhury has recorded the song “Bolo Bir Bolo Unnoto Momo Shir” while Anindita Brishti has sung “Jai Shatyer Jai”. Linu Billah, Shimul Yousuff, Syed Hossain Tipu, Chandan Chowdhury and Shaon Mahmud have lent their voices to the song “Ami Manusher Bhai Spartacus”.
Shimul Yousuff has recorded two other songs — “Tepantor-er Mathey” (written and composed by Kazi Nazrul Islam) and “Neerosh Dogdho Shomoy” written by Selim Al Deen. She also composed the latter.
Written by Talib Kabir and composed by Dr. Mohammad Samir Qawwal, a Qawwali number “Ali Ali Mawla Ali” adds a distinct flavour to the collection of songs. Dr. Mohammad Samir Qawwal and his troupe have recorded the number.
“Guerrilla” is an adaptation of a Syed Shamsul Haque novel — “Nishiddho Loban”. The film also incorporates personal experiences (during Liberation War) of the director. The contribution and sacrifice of a female freedom fighter, played by Joya Ahsan, is the highlight of the film, according to the filmmaker. Arial Creative Space Ltd and Impress Telefilm Ltd have jointly produced “Guerrilla”.
