Sheikh Jamal DC will take on hosts FC Alga in their second play-off match of the AFC Cup with only a draw required for them to qualify for the next stage.
The match will kick-off at 6:00pm Bangladesh Standard Time at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Jamal, who made a flying start to their campaign on Thursday with a 4-1 win over Macau champions Casa Benfica, believe they have the capacity to beat the five-time Kyrgyzstan champions.
Alga, who beat Benfica 2-0, are in a must win situation after falling behind Jamal on goal difference.
Jamal’s Nigerian coach Joseph Afusi claimed they are not thinking anything beyond the win in today’s match.
‘We are not going to play for a draw,’ Afusi told New Age on Friday. ‘Hopefully we will not stop there, we have to win and we are ready.’
Jamal skipper Mamunul Islam was also confident about continuing their superb form against the home side today.
‘We know that we will be facing a huge challenge against the home side,’ said the in-form midfielder, who showed his class by scoring from a direct corner against Casa Benfica on Thursday.
‘Both the sides have a 50-50 chance and we have to give our best to beat them.’
