Three events are planned in Dhaka in October, featuring the musical performance of celebrated Indian Bengali singer, songwriter and composer Kabir Suman.
The program’s organizer, Peephole, confirmed the information to New Age. The music shows will be held at the Bangladesh National Museum in the capital.
Fuad Bin Omar, a partner of Peephole, said, ‘He has agreed to perform in three programmes scheduled to be held on October 15, 18 and 21. He has been practising Khayal songs for the past few years. He will perform Khayal songs on October Besides, he will perform modern Bangla songs in the other two events.’
‘We are currently looking for sponsors and permission from the authority concerned. Hopefully, we will be able to sell tickets within a couple of weeks,’ he added.
Fuad Bin Omar also informed that the programmes will be live-streamed on demand on a closed Facebook group.
‘Those who will not be able to attend the events in person can buy tickets and view the events online on a closed Facebook Group. Therefore, viewers from all over the world will be able to enjoy the programme,’ he said.
Kabir Suman’s visit will mark the 30th year of the release of his popular solo album titled Tomake Chai. He is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka by the second week of October and expected to stay for a week. The legendary singer last performed in Dhaka in October 2009.
He started his music career in 1972 and has won millions of hearts during his prolific and illustrious music career.
