Khulna became champions of the Women’s National Cricket League with a 22-run victory over Rajshahi in the final at the Sylhet Divisional Stadium yesterday.
This was the third success for Khulna in four editions.
Shuktara Rahman hit 47 off 56 balls with four boundaries and a six while Rumana Ahmed contributed 31 off 22 balls that contained three boundaries as Khulna scored 112 for four wickets in stipulated 20 overs.
Shatira Jakir picked up two wickets for 24 runs.
In reply, Rajshahi finished their 20-over quota for 90 runs with the loss of six wickets.
Farjana Haq made unbeaten 37 off 29 balls that featured three boundaries.
Shuktara claimed two wickets conceding 14 runs.
Khulna received Tk 50,000 as champions’ prize money while runners-up Rajshahi got Tk 30,000.
Khulna’s Salma Khatun was adjudged player-of-the-tournament with 102 runs and 11 wickets.
