Nigerian Eleta Kingsley slammed a rare five-goal as Team BJMC tore Feni Soccer Club apart by 6-0 in their final Group B match of the Independence Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday. With the win, BJMC also kept their outside hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals of the tournament alive with seven points from five games, two more than Abahani Limited.
But their hope will fade away if the Sky Blues can seal only one win from their final two outings against Rahmatganj MFS and group leaders Sheikh Russell KC.
Though BJMC failed to produce any sparkling display throughout the 90 minutes, it was Kingley, whose breathtaking predatory instinct kept him apart from other 21 men on the pitch.
The Feni defenders looked clueless when the Nigerian had the ball on his feet as he scored barrage of goals.
Kingley gave BJMC the lead in the 37th minute. Two minutes later, he doubled the margin with an angular shot inside from the box and completed his hat-trick in the stoppage time of the first half.
It was the fourth hat-trick of the season after Sheikh Jamal’s Wedson Anselme, Sheikh Russell’s Fikru Tereefa and Muktijoddha Sangsad’s Ahmed Kolo Mosa.
Kingsley then widened the margin in the 51st and 71st minute before his compatriot Samson Iliasu completed the rout in the 87th minute to seal the biggest win of the season so far.
