National team coach Lodewijk de Kruif has asked Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin to hire a foreign goalkeeping coach for his team.
Salahuddin, however, told reporters that he is yet to respond to De Kruif’s request and that he will address the matter after a discussion with other officials. Before de Kruif took charge of the national team, Zahidur Rahman Milon was appointed as the goalkeeping coach, but now the Dutch coach wants a technically-sound specialist trainer.
‘I need a goalkeeping coach. The technique of the goalkeepers is zero, so I need a coach who knows it well,’ Salahuddin quoted de Kruif as saying on Thursday. ‘I agreed with [de Kruif] that we really need a goalkeeping coach who is technically sound but we are yet to decide about recruiting a foreign coach.’
De Kruif informed Salahuddin that he has identified a Dutch goalkeeping
coach who will be ready to take the position if the BFF gave him the nod.
Meanwhile, the BFF finalised the appointment of Mohammet Yamali as the team’s physical trainer after Kruif recommended him to the governing body.
