Muktijoddha Sangshad Krira Chakra continued their unbeaten streak in the Bangladesh Premier League with a 2-2 draw against Mohammedan Sporting Club in Mymensingh on Saturday.
Both Towhidul Alam Sabuz and Towhidul Alam Towhid scored a brace for Mohammedan and Muktijoddha respectively. With the draw, Muktijoddha moved to joint top of the points table along with Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club with nine points from five matches while Mohammedan were sharing the eighth place with Team BJMC with four points.
Sabuz put Mohammedan ahead at the half-hour mark when Aminur Rahman Sajib saw his angular shot hit the side post and Sabuz tapped the rebounder home.
Towhid levelled the margin for Muktijoddha in the 56th minute when Nigerian forward Ahmed Kolo Musa provided a neat pass to Towhid, whose fierce grounder found the back of the net.
Towhid helped Muktijoddha to take the lead in the 72nd minute heading home following a cross from Tanvir Rana from the right flank.
Sabuz, however, ensured one point for the Black and White outfits just three minutes later as the forward converted a penalty after Abul Malek’s lob was handled by Monjurur Rahman Manik inside the box.
