After six days of boycott due to outstanding wages, the footballers of Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra returned to practice following an assurance from club chairman, said an official on Monday.
Muktijoddha Sangsad chairman Helal Murshed met with the players and discussed about the unpaid salary and promised to clear the dues as soon as they managed money, confirmed coach Shafiqul Islam Manik.
`After having met with the chairman (Helal Morshed), the players returned to practice ahead of the league match against Mohammedan,’ said Manik.
‘The chairman told the players that the management will clear all unpaid wages as soon as they manage the fund but he expressed his disappointment
over the players’ boycott of training,’ he said.
The footballers of Muktijoddha Sangsad had boycotted the training session since Wednesday after the end of their engagement in the recently concluded Independence Cup.
The Reds are in sixth position in the professional football league points table with 16 points from 14 matches and will face fourth-placed Mohammedan Sporting Club on Wednesday.
