Laser Vision Ltd recently launched Dr. Nashid Kamal’s CD, “Jao tumi phire”. The CD, has 12 Nazrul songs: six popular and six rare numbers.
The event was held at the Gulshan Ladies’ Community Club on July 15. Chief guest, veteran artiste Sohrab Hossain launched the CD. Special guest, noted singer Ferdausi Rahman gifted Nashid her with her own `surmondol in recognition of her talent as well as for carrying forward the legacy of her father, the legendary Abbasuddin Ahmed. Special guest Khalid Hossain complimented the artiste in his speech. Noted singer and researcher Mustafa Zaman Abbasi came on stage and presented his book dedicated to his niece Nashid. Dr. Niaz Rahman was honoured for taking the bird pictures which form the cover of this CD. The programme was hosted by Naeela Kamal Sattar and was followed by a music recital by the artiste. Samira Abbasi and ustad Shahadat Hossain Khan also performed at the well attended event sponsored by City Bank.
