Young singer Sabbir has been a regular in the music arena since childhood. After winning an award in “Notun Kuri”, a nationwide talent hunt, as a child artiste, Sabbir later went on to seize the best vocalist award in the “Benson and Hedges Star Search”. Sabbir grew up in a musically inclined family. His parents are regular performers at Chittagong Betar (radio). His relatives from the maternal side are into singing as well. His sister is a singer too. Legendary folk singer Abdul Alim was the elder brother of his maternal grandfather. Sabbir says it was his grandfather who led him to the world of music. Now all his dreams and aspirations are built around music, while the singer says he is preparing himself to continue his symbiotic relationship with music till his death.
In his latest solo album “Bhalobasha Byaktigoto” — produced by G Series — Sabbir offers nine new songs. Suman Kalyan, Kishore and Sabbir himself has composed the tunes, while the songs were penned by Jahid Akbar, Mahmud Manzur, Suman Kalyan, Rabiul Islam Jibon, Anish Babu and Deholobhi. Most of the songs in the album are strictly melodious, Sabbir says, adding that they were all written to entertain the audience.
Sabbir has so far released singles in nine mixed albums, along with his debut solo album, titled “Aponaloy”.
His current schedule is filled with stage performances. He recently returned from a gig in Dubai, while other overseas performances were in the US, Canada, Japan, England, Australia, Russia and Singapore. The talented singer has also done playback for movies.
