The Plan Under-15 Girls Football Championship will begin at the end of October, officials said at a press conference at the National Music and Drama Centre on Sunday.
The tournament, which will be run by the Bangladesh Football Federation and sponsored by Plan International Bangladesh, will have district, division and national stages, and will take place in all 64 districts.
BFF president Kazi Salahuddin, general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag and Plan International field operations director Debashish Saha were at the press conference, as were the chairman and deputy-chairman of the women’s wing of the BFF, Serajul Islam Bachchu and Mahfuza Akhter Kiron.
‘We look forward to developing women’s football across the country and we thank Plan International for stepping up and contributing towards the development of football’ said Salahuddin.
The BFF plans to select a 20-member squad from the tournament’s participants and provide them with long-term training and development.
