The High Court on Wednesday asked the players status committee of Bangladesh Football Federation to dispose in two weeks the dispute over eight footballers.
The court also said the eight footballers would not be allowed to play for any other club in the two weeks. The bench of Justice Quamrul Islam Siddique and Justice Razik-Al Jalil passed the order disposing a writ petition filed by Sheikh Jamal Club.
Sheikh Jamal had sought a directive on the BFF to return the players to the club ahead of the independence club tournament.
The eight footballers are Mamunul Islam, Nasir Chowdhury, Sohel Rana, Raihan Hasan, Yeamin Ahmed Chowdhury Munna of Chittagong Abahani, goalkeeper Shahidul Alam Sohel of Dhaka Abahani and Alamgir Kabir Rana and Jamal Bhuiyan of Sheikh Russell KC .
They joined their respective clubs from Jamal during the just concluded players’ transfer window.
Jamal argued that the eight players took advance money from them to play for the side in the upcoming season but later opted for other clubs.
