Musical band Promithus released their six new songs through its website www.promethusbd.com, from where listeners can download the songs in mp3 format for free, as a protest to piracy in the audio industry.
The vocalist of the band Biplob said, ‘We will officially inaugurate our Mp3 Free Outlet project very soon before Eid.’
Addressing the issue of piracy Biplob said, ‘The audio industry of Bangladesh is currently experiencing a transition period when piracy is considered to be the biggest problem. Both the artistes and production houses are facing loss because of the piracy. Our Mp3 Free Outlet project is a silent protest against piracy.’
According to Biplob, the listeners can collect music video and mp3 of any Promithus song, old or new, from the outlet for free. ‘The songs are sponsored by different companies. Like five of our six new songs are sponsored by Swadesh Proparties Limited, Ocean Group, Diniar Garments and Pomp Tailors,’ added Biplob.
