Bangladesh national team midfielder Shohel Rana may be playing in England soon, his club Sheikh Jamal DC’s Nigerian coach Joseph Afusi said on Monday.
Afusi has been in contact with some English clubs who have shown an interest in Shohel, and he said that Shohel will get a call from an English club within three or four months.
‘Shohel is a very young and talented player. The future in front of Shohel is massive. I already had one or two contacts and I’m hundred per cent sure that in between three months and four months he might be the first Bangladeshi player to play in England,’ said Afusi.
‘His physical structure is not a big matter as many top class players are thinner than Shohel. Luis Suarez was not fit and Shohel is in better shape than him but he played for Liverpool. Shohel has played football with his mind and his structure is building so it doesn’t matter how big he is,’ said Afusi.
‘He has every quality to play in any Under-21 team in Europe. His quality is unbelievable,’ said the Nigerian coach.
Meanwhile, Shohel was happy with his performance in the IFA Shield but was a little disappointed to not win the trophy.
‘After the final match everybody told me that I played exceptional football there and I was satisfied with my performance, but I would be much happier if we won the trophy,’ said Shohel.
