Anamul Haque’s unbeaten 96 in the second innings steered Prime Bank South Zone to 213-2 helping the side stretch their lead over BCB North Zone to 330 runs at close on the third day of the Bangladesh Cricket League match at Fatullah on Thursday. Prime Bank dismissed the BCB outfit for 235 runs after they resumed third day’s play on 161-5 to take a vital 117-run first innings lead.Anamul put 87 and 112 runs for the second and third wicket respectively with Saikat Ali (51) and Tushar Imran (48 not out) to provide Prime Bank the backbone in their second innings.
Anamul, who has been out of the national squad since his injury in the recent World Cup, gave selectors a reminder of his form and fitness having scored a brilliant 94 in the first innings as well.
Prime Bank skipper Abdur Razzak and paceman Al-Amin Hossain earlier finished with identical figure of 4-67 in BCB North’s first innings.
Naeem Islam scored 44 and Ariful Haque, who claimed six wickets in Prime’s first innings made 42 runs for BCB.
Prime made 352 runs in the first innings thanks to a brilliant 108 runs of Sohag Gazi.
