Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin had an unofficial meeting with Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club president Manzur Kader at the BFF premises on Sunday in his bid to persuade the Premier League clubs to participate in the Tk one crore Super Cup next month.
The BFF chief, who returned to the country from Bahrain on the same day, is expected to meet the presidents of some clubs in a day or two who previously expressed their desire of skipping the cash-rich event.
The governing body of football are trying to host the tournament in June before the national team embarks on a training camp from July.
The Bangladesh national team were scheduled to contest in two friendlies against India and Pakistan on June 1 and 8 respectively in the United Kingdom which lead to the cancellation of the Super Cup from the current season.
However, since the England tour was called off by the sponsors, the BFF are trying to organise the Super Cup next month to give the national footballers enough preparation time ahead of the SAFF Championship in September.
