Bangladesh Under-14 women’s football team stormed into the final of the AFC U-14 Girls’ Regional Championship after a huge 9-1 win against hosts Tajikistan in the semi-final at the Aviator Stadium in Dushanbe on Saturday. Tohura Khatun and Monica both scored hat-tricks for the reigning champions while Anuching Mogini scored a brace and Akhi Akter netted the other one.
Bangladesh ended the first-half with six goals. They will now take on India in today’s final, who edged past Iran 4-3 in the other semifinal earlier in the day.
Bangladesh had beaten India in their opening group fixture by 3-1 goals before thrashing Nepal 9-0 in the second group match.
