Walton will sponsor the 28th edition of the Federation Cup this year after signing a Tk 20 lakh deal with the Bangladesh Football Federation on Thursday.
The season’s curtain-raiser Federation Cup will get underway on November 20.
Walton extended their support to football’s governing body as the BFF’s major sponsoring partner Grameenphone has yet to give a positive response to extend their contract which ran out in July this year.
Besides the Tk 20 lakh deal, Walton will also provide a Fusion 110 EX Motorcycle to the best player of the tournament. The champions will be rewarded with Tk 5 lakh while the runners-up side will receive Tk 3 lakh.
All the participating teams will get Tk 25,000 each as participation money.
10 top-flight clubs will participate in the 12-team competition with the other two teams to be decided from the preliminary round.
Only Rahamatganj MFS from the second-tier league agreed to participate in the tournament while the winner of the play-off match to be held between BKSP and Bangladesh Police will progress to the final round.
