A mother in the United Kingdom committed suicide by setting fire to herself on a train to London.
The Daily Mail reported the 43-year-old woman, Rachel James ignited a can of highly flammable gas in the lavatory.
Passengers fled after hearing a loud explosion.
Tim Naylor, who was on the train, said: “There was a big, loud screaming sound. Smoke was coming in the doors and we could see flames in the carriage. It was pretty frightening.”
James spent nearly a decade in a mental hospital after she attacked her own children.
She had attempted to kill her eldest son, who managed to escape.
However, her six-year-old son Perry was unable to get away and was battered to death.
James attempted to hang herself, but the cord broke and she was charged with murder.
Her former husband also committed suicide by torching himself at a mental institution four years ago, it has been claimed.
