Two Nigerian midfielders – Steve Obi and Ikkinua Kingsley – arrived on Sunday to play for Abahani Limited in the upcoming season, said the official on Monday.
The Nigerian duo claimed that they have the experience of playing in the Nigerian Premier League last season. `The players claimed that they have played in the Nigerian Premier League last season but we will take the decision after observing them in trial,’ said Sattyajit Das Rupu, manager of the Abahani football team, adding that a Dutch footballer named DB Jamal will arrive soon and two more Nigerian players will come to join the trial.
Meanwhile, Abahani have already confirmed Ghanaian striker Osei Morison, while two Moroccan footballers are training with the team for the next season.
Three old faces – Samad Eusuf and Awudu Ibrahim of Ghana and Yoko Samnick of Cameroon are waiting for a call from the officials of Abahani.
Those three players are waiting for our positive response but before calling them we wants to see the others players. We have enough time to choose the foreign players till November 15 so that we are not in a hurry,’ said Abahani team manager.
