Reigning champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will take on Abahani Limited in the Bangladesh Premier League today, hoping to sign off their first leg as an unbeaten side. Two-time champions Jamal earned 23 points to ensure they remain at the top spot when first leg ends on May 21. They are nine points ahead of fifth-placed holder Abahani, who, however played one match less than the leaders.
Jamal continued their impressive unbeaten run in the league, thanks to their striking duo—Wedson Anselme and Emeka Darlington, who scored 12 goals together in nine matches.
Abahani’s campaign was marred by two defeats and two draws against just four wins.
