Sunday Chizoba and Mithun Chowdhury scored two goals each as Muktijoddha Sangsad KC trounced Rahmatganj MFS 4-0 in an ill-tempered Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier
League match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
One player from each side was shown red cards in the game including in-form Mithun, who had to leave the field one minute from the time after seeing his second yellow
card in the game.
Mithun had just scored his second goal of the match but it all ended on a sour note for him as he unnecessarily handled the ball in Rahmatganj box only to get the
marching order.
Chizoba put Muktijoddha ahead in the seventh minute with a placing shot before Mithun doubled their margins in the 38th minute. Rahmatganj were already reduced to 10
men with midfielder Sirfin Rahman Rony picking up a red card for a foul on rival midfielder Nasiruddin.
Muktijoddha heaped pressure on Rahmatganj in the second half and were rewarded with their third goal through Chizoba, who broke the defence playing one-two with Mithun
and placed a left footer in the far post net.
With eighth win from 13 matches, Muktjoddha took their tally to 27, though they are still trailing table-toppers Abahani by three points.
Rahmatganj, on the other hand, with three consecutive defeats in the second leg are languishing at the bottom of the table with nine points from 13 matches.
